The story centers on post-apocalyptic, cyberpunk concept of Earth where humanity doesn’t exist, and the earth is populated by robots and mechanics, many of which are humans whose awareness has been digitized in a viewing of an extinction incident.
Into the Night begins with a sudden solar event, as the sun inexplicably starts killing everything in its path. The show centers around the ‘lucky’ passengers and crew of an overnight flight out of Brussels, as they attempt to fly west — into the safety of the dark night. The plane’s manifest is multinational and multilingual, with passengers rich and poor, young and old, civilian and military.
The seemingly ordinary travelers share but one thing: A desire to survive the sun — and each other — by any means necessary. So the group have to hop from one place to another looking for food and plane fuel and have to be on air most time until they find a place to be safe.

The Netflix series will present the story in a six-part episode and will be very similar to the novel. The synopsis as per IMDb, says ‘As the sun begins to destroy everything in its path, a plane full of passengers try to fly west into the security of the darkness to avoid its destructive power.’
