Sexual abuse is oftentimes associated with females but talks about men’s rape cases are hardly ever held which is an issue of concern because in as much as women and girls are the most vulnerable to sexual abuse in the society, men are also victims of this vice which is on the rise each and every day, and they should not be ignored and given a blind eye. Society should be at the forefront to protect them too.

Just recently, Controversial radio show presenter and blogger Andrew Kibe opened up about once being a victim of sexual abuse when he was still young. Kibe narrates about how he became a victim of a man’s greed for sexual satisfaction forcing children to meet his needs and demands due to the power of imbalance. He recalls how by then he was solely 5 years old and powerless.

While sharing his story on his podcast with two artists; Benzema and Murasta, Kibe recounts how he was so ashamed and uncomfortable about it and kept it a secret for more than 13 years before coming out and opening up about it after realizing that he was not alone. There are actually so many men out here who had encountered a similar experience as his.

The celebrated radio personality further recalls how the then influential and powerful man at Ngara Estate who molested children secretly, was the same man who was supposed to change an 18-year-old Kibe’s life. In his revelation, Kibe narrates how on that fateful day his mother took him to meet someone at the government office who would help him secure a job but sadly;

“The guy who molested us when we were kids is sitting on the table and my mum is telling me he is supposed to give me a job and change my life.”

Kibe was no longer the 5-year-old powerless kid, and he told off the guy with his demands.

“I don’t want to talk to this guy or be next to him. She didn’t understand. I never told her what had happened. But when I talked about it in the changing room to my friends, they had experienced something similar.”

Kibe was glad that he could finally let go and talk about his story. A story that had disturbed him for years, and not even his mother was conversant about it back in the days. At least he could now feel light about it.
