How often does a Kenyan change their underwear and put on a clean one? Well, it is bad news and the one reading this knows it too.

Think again before re-wearing the same dirty underwear for a second day in a row. It happens — sometimes you forget to do laundry, and you simply can't find a clean pair. However, there's a reason why you should change your underwear every day because it could impact your health. What's more, these side effects can linger, possibly leading to more serious conditions that you'll then have to clear up. And who wants that, right?

Changing the underwear everyday sounds like a perfect healthy lifestyle. But not changing has no very bad effects as many people might be thinking.

Everyone has microbial flora. These are naturally occurring microorganisms found in and on bodies. What causes clothes to smell bad is the release and accumulation of these bacteria after an extended period of time.

The fact that one harbors bacteria is actually beneficial although it sounds scary. So long as one does not have any break in the skin, there is no need to worry about the microbial flora doing any harm.

Underwear just like the other clothes, build up the bacteria when they are worn for a long time. There are factors that can increase the build up. Sweating on a hot day and exercising for example increase the rate of accumulation of the bacteria.

Acne & Skin Problems

Therefore, is it disgusting to put on an underwear for more than a day? Depends with the person. Is it harmful to the body? Not likely.

If you take a week or so, there is likely to be an odor as there would have been massive growth of the bacteria. Just clean well after using the bathroom and you will not have to worry a lot about the health.

So for those of you who do not change, there is good news. Your gross little secret is probably safe.

Let us summarize with the six things that could happen if you don't change those undies enough.

  1. You'll Get Bad Odors
  2. You'll Get Sweatier Down There
  3. Accumulation Of Stains
  4. Increased Secretions
  5. Yeast Infections
