Every so often, there comes a TV pair which clicks, which gels so well together, which shares amazing chemistry so much that you just can’t get enough. We all remember the memorable pair that was Hussein Mohammed and Janet Mbugua. Then there was Larry Madowo and the lovely Victoria Rubadiri. However, in the same breath, there are pairs that are such a mismatch, it pains to watch them. Trevor Ombija and Zainab Ishmael. Mark Maasai and Gladys Gachanja.
In the quest to look for a suitable replacement for Butita on the popular show The Trend, the show has for a while been looking for a suitable pair that can stand in for Kwach and Cindy, in case one of the two is missing. Last Friday, they, for the first time, tried out Kwach and Terence. Things, however, seemed to take quite a dive pretty early in the show.
CHECK ALSO:
The trio was talking about the unfortunate death of Othuol Othuol, when Kwach, perhaps loosing himself for a moment, decided it was the best time to crack a joke, saying that he would never praise someone like Terence when he was still alive. After he blurted out this, there was a brief tense moment of silence, with no one laughing or talking, after which poor Amina tried to salvage the situation and moved on to a different topic swiftly.
Terrence was close to the departed comedian and couldn’t bring himself to make light of the topic, even if it meant just smiling for the cameras.
One couldn’t help but miss Cindy who would have quickly thought of something smart to say and diffuse the situation.
All the same, the pair seemed to find their footing later on and carried out the show well.
