“My lawyers are still handling it!” Victor Wanyama on suing Shakilla for defamatory claims.

Victor Wanyama says he is not finished with socialite Shakilla after she defamed him.
Harambee Stars captain and Montreal footballer Victor Wanyama recently revealed that he is still pursuing legal redress following defamatory claims that were made by teen socialite Shakilla. Speaking during an interview with Obinja TV, the former Tottenham Hotspurs footballer revealed that contrary to the expectation of many, he will drop the charges against Shakilla and that she will be an example to other young girls who tarnish people’s names just for clout.

The footballer who in the past was accused by the socialite of prostitution told Obinja TV that he will be following up with his legal pursuit against the socialite with the aim of protecting his name, his family’s, and his reputation that he has built over the years. He, however, did not reveal much on the status of his legal suit but assured his fans that his team of lawyers was handling it and that he is hopeful justice will be served.

“What she said was not appropriate. I have worked so hard for many years to make a name and I have to protect that. I had to seek legal redress over this matter because I also have to protect my family name. I will not speak much about the matter because my people are still handling it,” he said.

Notably, his statement comes a few months after the socialite who in the viral video claimed to have been offered Kshs 700,000 for a night by the footballer, offered a public apology to him for tainting his name. In the Instagram video, Shakilla apologized to him for falsely claiming to have bedded him subsequently dragging his name in mud stating that her actions were influenced by her intoxicated state during the Instagram Live session with controversial blogger Xtian Dela.
