Shirleen Mukami accused of conning Kenyans over Ksh800K with fake story cooked up by her baby daddy Cabu Gah
Shirleen said that she gave birth and the fact that she couldn't afford to raise money for taking care of the baby made her depressed. Today, Shirleen has been exposed on Instagram via Edgar Obare's page by a concerned friend who said that Shirleen is not suffering and the whole baby issue was fake.
He said that Shirleen's baby daddy popularly known as Cabugah had a car which was involved in an accident and for now it couldn't operate. The friend said that Cabuah planned everything with Shirleen and faked the whole story on Twitter to get support of which for the past few days the couple has raised over Sh800000 from innocent Kenyans.
‘My experience is real and I have enough evidence’- Shirleen Mukami Responds.
As earlier reported, Shirleen’s lengthy thread which was shared on Twitter detailed her struggles as a young single mother whose dreams had been shattered following early motherhood and financial constraints.
That pushed her to start her initiative ‘Baby Shower Sisters’ alongside other young mothers to help girls facing the same hardship.
Kenyans donated over Ksh 800K towards the initiative which has since been exposed as a fraud throwing Shirleen back to the trending list but this time being the focus of social media backlash which forced her to give a response.
In a video on her Twitter page which has since been deleted, the mother of one however maintains that her story is true and she has no clue about the screenshots shared.
“Deeply saddened, shocked and disappointed in the way my friend Kenneth Kabuga was chatting with his boys. He’s told me it was random idle talk they all do in the group. I’m running this campaign myself, it’s real, I’ve visited homes, my experience is real and I have enough evidence,” she wrote.
I, a single mom, approached Kenneth Gachie to help me popularise my initiative. As stated here already, he has been good at that and successfully did a campaign for his sister last year to buy an electric wheelchair and make donations to spinal injury victims.
