HERE ARE THE 7 DEALS BABU OWINO STRUCK WITH DJ EVOLVE AFTER SHOOTING

As Embakasi East MP Babu Owino prepares to publicly share his version of the 2020 DJ Evolve shooting incident ahead of his Nairobi gubernatorial bid, attention has turned back to the settlement he made with the popular DJ.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino reached a private settlement with DJ Evolve to settle the B Club shooting incident, which left DJ Evolve paralyzed.

In December 2021, DJ Evolve officially withdrew the attempted murder case against the MP.

However, as part of the agreement, Babu Owino was required to fulfill a series of conditions aimed at supporting the DJ’s recovery and long-term care.

Deal Babu Owino and DJ Evolve Settled on

Here are the key commitments Babu Owino made:

• Clear DJ Evolve’s hospital bill, which at the time stood at Ksh 17 million.
• Cover all nursing care costs until DJ Evolve fully recovers.
• Buy and customize a Toyota Noah vehicle for DJ Evolve to aid in his mobility.
• Purchase and register a house in the name of DJ Evolve and his parents.
• Build an additional home for him in Utawala, Nairobi.
• Set up a DJ academy to support DJ Evolve’s career and livelihood.
• Prepay two years’ worth of rent, water, electricity, internet, and medication to ease financial stress during recovery.

The court endorsed the deal but made it clear that either party could take legal action if the terms were not followed.

Despite the case being withdrawn, Babu Owino was still charged with a lesser offense—behaving in a disorderly manner while armed. That count proceeded separately.

The MP later expressed gratitude for the agreement and referred to DJ Evolve’s family as his own. He emphasized that the resolution was made in a spirit of forgiveness and compassion.

DJ Evolve, still recovering at home, has continued to face challenges. His condition worsened emotionally after the death of his mother, Mary Hongo, who was his primary caregiver.

While the legal spotlight has dimmed, the public continues to watch closely—both for DJ Evolve’s well-being and for whether Babu Owino will fulfill all promises made.
