South Carolina authorities have named Rose Helen Kewlani, 52, of West Columbia, as the victim of a fatal shooting along Interstate 26 on Monday.
Rose Kewlani died after being shot on I-26 West near mile marker 82, according to the Newberry County Coroner's office.
An autopsy had been requested and was due to take place later this week.
Wilfrido George Luna, 45, a Columbia resident, was arrested in connection with her shooting death, according to WLTX.
Deputies believe Luna shot Kewlani on Monday morning while traveling near Exit 82, the SC-773/Prosperity exit in Newberry County. Following the shooting, Luna escaped over numerous roads and through a patch of trees, eventually arriving at the Mid-Carolina Club golf course.
A short pursuit and 'brief' standoff resulted in the arrest of the sought man.
According to WISTV, Luna has been charged with murder and is being held in the Newberry County jail.
There was no apparent indication of a murder motive.
