The victims were identified as Ryan and Emily Long, along
with their two children, Parker and Ryan Long. Dad worked as a school
psychologist, and Mom was looking for job.
A family of four from
New Hampshire was discovered dead at their Madbury home on Monday night,
in what investigators believe was a murder-suicide attempt.
The fatalities were Emily Long, 34, her husband Ryan Long, 48, and their two children, Parker, 8, and Ryan, 6.
A third child, a toddler, was discovered alive and uninjured, according to WCVB.
Each
of the deceased appeared to have received gunshot wounds and was
pronounced dead on the scene. Investigators also discovered a pistol
near the family. It remains unclear who started the gunfire.
Ryan Long has worked as a school psychologist for the Oyster River Cooperative School District for the past nine years and as a part-time adjunct instructor at Plymouth State University Graduate Programs since 2022, according to his LinkedIn profile.
According to the profile, the husband and father are both licensed school psychologists and board certified behavioral analysts.
The father's work status had not to be validated by the Oyster School District.
Emily Long was looking for a new job, according to her LinkedIn page, and had graduated from the University of New Hampshire hospitality management program and from Oyster River High School.
Madbury is a small town with a population of 2000, two miles north of the University of New Hampshire in Durham and 15 miles west of Portsmouth.
