Itumbi's brother, David Itumbi, took to Twitter at around 1pm on Friday to announce that they had found him badly beaten at the hospital.
According to David, the digital strategist told them that he was arrested and tortured by police officers.
Dennis Itumbi went missing after being reportedly taken by unidentified people on Thursday afternoon at Thindigwa in Kiambu County.

Dennis Itumbi, digital strategist for Vice President William Ruto, was found with nurse wounds at the hospital after he was allegedly kidnapped.

Itumbi's brother, David Itumbi, took to Twitter at around 1pm on Friday to announce that they had found him badly beaten at the hospital.

According to David, the digital strategist told them that he was arrested and tortured by police officers.

"My brother was badly beaten. We thank God that he is alive. He was arrested by the police on his own account, beaten and tortured. We found him in this condition. Please pray for his recovery," wrote David. He added photos of Itumbi in a hospital bed with wounds to his eyes and mouth.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kiphumba Murkomen also took to the social networking site to condemn the incident, accusing the police of harming Itumbi instead of protecting it as required by law.

"I am glad to see our brother Ole Itumbi. It is sad to see him in such pain. I hope he will recover stronger. I am horrified that the police officers who were supposed to protect him hurt him," Mrukomen wrote.

Itumbi went missing after being reportedly taken by unidentified people on Thursday afternoon at Thindigwa in Kiambu County.

The controversial blogger is said to have been forced into a Toyota Premio after leaving a barber shop.
