Kevin Otieno, also known as Kevo Sonko, is among the high-profile individuals arrested as the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) cracks down on multinational gold fraud syndicates.
These gangs have been accused of defrauding international investors out of millions of dollars through intricate bogus gold export arrangements.
Sonko and his colleagues, according to investigators, duped a Canadian investor into a fraudulent gold deal involving 250 kg, defrauding him of a stunning USD 618,000 (roughly KSh 79 million).
His rides include a high-end Mercedes G-Wagon, and he apparently travels with his own security, demonstrating his self-proclaimed "big baller" persona.
