Alex Murimi Nderi, 34, popularly known as DJ Lithium, has been confirmed dead.
DJ Lithium committed suicide Wednesday evening after spending his last minutes on Capital FM.
Colleagues found his body in the IT department and immediately took him to Nairobi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
According to station management, Lithium's family was informed of the emergency and arrived at the hospital shortly afterward. The paramedics at the hospital did their best to save his life, but unfortunately he passed away.
“Alex was a wonderful addition to the larger Capital FM team, which encompasses great talent as a DJ and producer and has an interesting 'right-wing' sense of humor,” said Danny Munyi, Programs Director at Capital FM.
A statement from the station added: "To honor him, we will congratulate him for his passion for this company, the direct breakfast team, the other mixxmasters, and we will cherish the moments we shared with him. At this difficult time, we ask that you respect the family's privacy as we all regret the loss of Alex." we do."
