The Chinese wife of Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati dazzled a group of locals after speaking to them fluently in Kisii.
In a video circulating online, the Asian addressing the meeting Monday (January 17th) is applauded by the crowd as she addresses them at a rally in Bobasi at Nyamache stadium, where she joins her husband to campaign for the Kisii governorship position. .
She introduced herself as “Kwamboka Arati” and in August asked the Kisii people to vote for her husband as governor.
Few details, including names, are known about Arati's wife, whom Arati introduced himself at an event in Kisi in 2018 and defended himself against accusations that he was an "immature child".
In 2018, the legislature declared an Abagusi community spokesperson, a decision that angered some of his community and unnecessarily attacked him for marrying a Chinese woman.
The ODM Deputy, however, dismissed the criticism, revealing that he met his partner while he was studying Business Administration at Guangzhou University in China's Guangdong province, from which Arati graduated in 2006.
